The Days of Polish Culture festival is an annual tradition upheld in our partner city. Between 8 and 30 April, a large audience takes part in interesting events showcasing Polish culture, language and traditions. The City of Poznań is one of the main partners. Both adults and children will find something for themselves: meetings focused on Polish books, the theatrical performance "Bileterka" (Ticket Collector) performed by the Stefan Jaracz Theatre from Łódź and a jazz concert by the Sny Trio from Poznań. The programme features lectures including "From the Gulag to the War: 80 years since Dukla and Monte Cassino" given by historian Jerzy Friedel and a screening of films including the documentary on the Ulmowie family "Whoever Saves One Life, It Is as if They Saved the Whole World". Spilberk Castle hosts the photo exhibition "Castles in our area", prepared by the Polish Institute in Prague, presenting interesting castles located in Poland in the provinces bordering the Czech Republic. One of the highlights of the festival is a meeting with Jakub Żulczyk - Polish writer, screenwriter, journalist, Americanist and co-author of TV series.

The Days of Polish Culture in Brno were opened on 8 April by Oliver Pospíšil, Director General of the City of Brno, Marcin Kostaszuk, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture at the Poznań City Hall, and Libuše Nivnicka, Director of the Jiři Mahen Library, where most of the events of the Festival have been taking place. The Jiři Mahen Library in Brno has collaborated with the Raczyński Library in Poznań for over 16 years and is the largest public municipal library in Moravia and the second largest in the Czech Republic.
