Around Poznań

The National Park of Wielkopolska is one of the most attractive terrains located in the vicinity of Poznań. It is visited annually by over one million tourists! The park is located approximately 15 km to the south of Poznań, but it is easy to reach, thanks to the convenient bus and rail connections.
The park covers 18 areas of strictly protected land with a total area of 260 ha. They protect various forms of the postglacial landscape and the most natural flora communities, as well as associated animal species. This protection also extends to over 32 monumental trees and one erratic. The park is covered by five marked tourist trails with a total length of 85 km, which assign 7 tourist routes, allowing for better acquaintance with the natural and cultural features of this terrain. The park is a perfect place for hikers and cyclists, as well as fans of Nordic walking!

The "Zielonka Forest" Landscape Park, which is located to the north east of Poznań, is a great place for cyclists. The total length of the cycling trails running through the Forest is 224 km.
The arrangement of the routes can be compared to a bicycle wheel - it is composed of two rings - large and small - and eight spokes. The cycling routes provide endless possibilities for planning trips. They allow access to all of the most interesting locations of Zielonka Forest and its surroundings. Everyone will find something interesting here! You can take a two-hour or a two-day ride, using  local accommodation , and return to the starting point by a different route from the initial one. This is perfect for cyclists!

The Morasko Meteorite Nature Reserve is one of the most interesting and valuable attractions in the city! The area surrounding seven meteorite craters on the slope of the highest hill in Poznań - Morasko  (154 m above sea level) - is considered to be one of the largest groupings of such objects on Earth, both in size and numbers!
The largest crater has a diameter of approximately 60 m and a depth reaching 11.5 m. Besides the "cosmic" and landscape features, the Reserve is also a  fascinating natural monument. Most of the craters are located in an oak-hornbeam forest (referred to as wet-ground), once typical of Greater Poland, though rather rare in modern times, with beautiful flora, composing colourful aspects, particularly during the spring blossoming. The Morasko Meteorite Reserve is a real paradise for nature lovers, cyclists and people who value peace and quiet. This is a perfect place to rest after an emotional match!
