The Faculty of Environmental and Energy Engineering at the Poznan University of Technology and the City of Poznań invite you to an open lecture, which will be conducted by Dr. Maarten Keuten, titled "To shower or not to shower,... that is the question". The lecture will be held on October 19 at 9:45 in the Poznan University of Technology Lecture Center, room no. 8.

Dr. Maarten Keuten is a researcher dealing with the diverse environmental and energy aspects of swimming pools. He combines scientific knowledge with over 25 years of practical experience in water treatment, air conditioning and environmental engineering in an effort to improve swimming pools now and in the future.

Dr. Keuten's scientific publications focus on analyzing and proposing solutions leading to reduced introduction of organic substances into swimming pool water. These substances react with chlorine used to disinfect pool water to create water disinfection by-products harmful to health. He also conducts research on assessing people's hygiene behavior before entering pools. This research aims to increase the awareness of pool users of their impact on what happens in swimming pools.

Dr. Keuten is a highly practical scientist. His experience in designing and implementing swimming pool water treatment systems allows him to propose very modern solutions that, scientifically proven, can contribute to increased safety of swimming pools to their users.
