The City of Poznań and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań invite you to open lectures by a world-famous specialist in the field of linguistics, Professor Dmitrij Dobrovolskij.

The lecture entitled "Poznań worth getting acquainted with - on the phraseology in media language" will take place on June 5, 2012, at 4:00 pm, Hall C3 Collegium Novum UAM, al. Niepodległości 4.

The lecture on "Symbolism in the languages of Europe and its significance for intercultural communication" will take place on June 6, 2012, at 11:30, Hall C3 Collegium Novum UAM, al. Niepodległości 4.


Professor Dmitrij Dobrovol'skij Ph.D. works in the Institute of Russian Languages of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Since 2001 he has been carrying out far-reaching corpora research for the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna. He is also a member of the academic council of the Institute of German Language in Mannheim. The activities of Professor Dmitrija Dobrovol"skij cover research in the field of applied and cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, lexical semantics, phraseology, lexicography and phraseology, The Professor is a representative and continuator of the tradition of the famous Moscow School of Linguistics. Above all, he contributes to world science in the field of phraseology, in which he remains an unquestionable authority. He is the originator of a vast theoretical base in phraseology and the co-author of the prestigious series "Phraseology: An International Handbook of Contemporary Research". The Professor combines research into phraseology with the practical use of the results in mono and bilingual dictionaries, of which he is co-author and editor.
