The Jan Ignacy Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan and the City of Poznan invite you to an open lecture "La respiration qui est l'élément essentiel que l'on doit connaître pour la maîtrise de l'instrument" ("Breath as the most important element in playing wind instruments"), which will be delivered by a world-renowned musician and educator - Prof. Maurice Bourgue - an oboe professor at the Conservatory in Paris and Geneva. The lecture will be held on 24 April (Thursday) at 3 p.m. in the Chamber Music Hall of the Academy of Music, ul. Święty Marcin 87, and the concert will be held on 25 April, at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Academy (ul. Święty Marcin 87).
Maurice Bourgue - an oboe professor at the Conservatoire in Paris and Geneva.
After completing studies at the CNSM Paris Conservatoire (with the highest honours in the class of oboe and chamber music), Maurice Bourgue wins first prizes at international competitions in Geneva in 1963, Birmingham in 1965, Munich in 1967, Prague in 1968 and Budapest in 1970. He is appointed first solo oboist of the Paris Orchestra in 1967. He leaves it in 1979 to devote himself exclusively to his solo career and to his work as a professor at the CNSM Paris Conservatoire. He played in all the most important and prestigious concert halls all around the world, with the most famous orchestras under the baton of such conductors as Krips, Abbado, Berenboim, Gardiner, Chailly. Maurice Bourgue was also very active in the field of music education.
In addition to his permanent activity in the Conservatories in Paris and Geneva, he was also a director of the Bohuslav Martinu International Academy of Chamber Music in the Czech Republic for about ten years. He has given lectures in major music schools around the world, including Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris, Conservatoire de Musique de Geneve, Guildhall School of Music and Franz Liszt Academy of Music.
Today, thanks to his reputation as an educator, he conducts a large number of master classes around the world, which attract many musicians from different backgrounds who want to listen to his lectures. Recently, Bourgue was invited to cooperate as a conductor with famous orchestras, mainly in Europe.
As the founder and leader of the wind instrument octet under his own name, he participated in countless concerts and recordings throughout the world.
He recorded, among others, for EMI, Decca, DGG, Philips, Nimbus, Verany, Calliope, Nippon, Columbia and has received several awards of the Academy Charles Gros. He participated in the prestigious performances (Dyptyk Henri Dutilleux in Besançon, New York, Paris, Concert à Quatre Oliviera Messiaen in Vienna and Munich).
