The City of Poznań and Poznan University of Medical Sciences invite you to an open lecture by a world-famous specialist in the field of gynecology and obstetrics - Professor Eli Y. Adashi.

The lecture entitled "Pre-exposition prophylactics in the prevention of HIV in women, new possibilities for a generation free of AIDS" will take place on May 17, 2012, at 11:00 am, in the Congress-Didactic Centre of the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznan, ul. Przybyszewskigo 37.


Professor Adashi completed his training in the field of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Tufts in the USA and continued clinical training and post-doctorate training on the endocrinology of reproduction at the University of John Hopkins and the University of California.

He was the mentor of over 50 doctor and scientist trainees, the author and co-author of 280 works in reviewed magazines and over 120 chapters in books, as well as the editor and co-editor of 13 books.

Currently, he is the Senior Advisor on Global Women's Health to the Secretary of State Office of Global Women's Issues (USA).  Professor Adashi is also a member of the Managing Boards of the organisation Physicians for Human Rights and Population Connection, a member of the Medicare Evidence Development Coverage Advisory Committee, a member of the Global Agenda Council on Population Growth at the World Economic Forum, an advisor to the World Health Organisation, the World Bank, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Foundation of Bill and Melinda Gates.

He is also a member of the Institute of Medicine at the National Academy of Sciences, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Association of American Physicians.
