Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań together with the City of Poznań invite you to a lecture by Professor Gilian Rose from the Open University, Milton Keynes, entitled: "Digital visualisations of urban redevelopment: how future cities are pictured."

The lecture (in English) will take place in the rehearsal room of the "Zamek" Culture Centre in Poznań, ul. Św. Marcin 80/82, on 10 May 2013 at 6.00 p.m.

The lecture concerns the use of computer-generated pictures to present designs of urban space modernization.

Gillian Rose is a professor in cultural geography. Her most important works concern the use of visual methods in social studies and innovative methods of including imaging technologies in the methodology of social sciences. She is the author of a textbook "Visual Methodologies: An Introduction to Interpreting Visual Materials" (2001, Polish edition 2009), and a number of other publications on the relations of the social world and photography (i.a. "Doing Family Photography: The Domestic, the Public and the Politics of Sentimentwas", 2010).

Professor Rose's research also includes the issue of visual experiencing of city space, as well as policy of urban space management ("Deterritorialisations: Revisioning Landscape and Politics", 2003). Recently, she has been dealing with the influence of digital imaging techniques on shaping urban space in designs of cities of the future.
