Prof. Peeter Torop (Estonia) 21-22.05.2019

The Faculty of Social Science of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań together with the City of Poznań invite you to another open lecture. This time, two lectures will be given by Prof. Peeter Torop. Lectures will take place on 21 May at 5 p.m. on "Cultural languages in time and space: semiotic view to conflicts" in Barak Kultury Al. Marcinkowskiego 21, and on 22 May at 11 a.m. on "Semiotics of J. Lotman: from heritage to actual toolbox" ul. Szamarzewskiego 89, building E room D.

He is the author of over one hundred articles published in prestigious magazines in Estonian, Italian, English, Chinese and Russian in the field of semiotics of culture, literary studies and philosophy. One of the greatest contemporary semioticians of culture. His works are a continuation of the tradition initiated by the legendary Tartu-Moscow school. His most important scientific achievement is the work Total Translation, translated into many languages. Polish translation was co-published with the text by P. Ricoeur.
